Ecopipam is a D2 partial dopamine antagonist. It doesn’t block dopamine completely, but helps balance it out, especially in the Striatum which is a main component for speech motor control. Prozac also helps modulate dopamine in the brain, which is why it also helps some people become more fluent over time. Takes a while for the brain to get used to the remodulated neurotransmitter levels, but it can work for some.
