I think it would have been different if she said "I wish there was a cure. I hate how my child stutters." Instead she is saying she doesn't want you to suffer. Shes empathizing with you, which shows she really cares about you. If this still bothers you, tell her stuttering doesn't make you suffer... but you've probably vocalized at some point in your life that stuttering makes you suffer, which is where she gets her information. Just a thought...
