I completely agree with you. Complete fluency should not be the ultimate goal. If it happens, then it happens, but we should be content with all the milestones and progress that we make, whether they are big or small. As you’ve mentioned, the goal is ongoing maintenance. As long as we are continuously working on improving our speech, we have every right to be proud of ourselves. And thank you for addressing the topic of neuroplasticity and age. Our age doesn’t dictate our abilities and what we are capable of. I needed to hear this, given my insecurities sometimes about “missed opportunities.”
