The two take aways i get from your "hacks" is that (1) they slow down things for you (let's you "center") and (2) you are trying to control tension and releasing it. I think a lot of people would agree that these are great things to address, but doing it in the form of hacks, as /u/shutuppussy alluded to, can be dangerous and created unwated secondaries since you are doing a lot of physical things to accomplish your goals. A lot of people on here find mindfulness, meditation and desensitization, to help with the things you talked about. It's less likely to develop secondaries from these techniques.
