THIS IS ME! I always think of how different my life would be if I could speak with fluency. All the missed jokes, quips, flirtatious remarks, repartees and comebacks I've never said because they all rely on timing. And I just don't have it with a stutter. I learned early on in high school, when I tried to tell jokes, that the excitement of telling the joke/saying the comment got me anxious and made me stutter. This translated to awkward delivery and painful glances. So now, I just keep quiet and only rely on a deadpan delivery if I'm confident I can muster it. Which means I'm know as the "deadpan" guy in the group despite knowing I can be the gregarious, charming one.
