Truthfully, I do not think the stutter is what is causing these feelings. It's very similar to when you hear "If I only had a boyfriend/girlfriend then I would be happy." Just like those lonely people need to be happy with themselves as they are before being able to make that change in life, so do you. Personally, I think you would benefit from therapy. Not speech therapy, just regular old therapy. You need to consciously make an effort to help yourself, and remember that every single day is going to be hard. You have to be tough, otherwise nothing is going to change. This is the same with speech therapy: a few weeks, months, or even a year you may not notice a huge difference. It is not a quick or easy change.
