Speech therapy is worth it but only good speech therapy imo. The problem is it is hard to find a good therapy who really understands the issue of stuttering and knows how to help. I would advise against therapies that focus on fluency and/or teach techniques. You can also check with your university's speech and hearing department to see if they offer any therapy which is often cheaper
