Stammerer wanting to work in the PR industry Hello everyone as the title suggests I’m a pretty bad stammerer . But the PR industry fascinates me a lot . spending time with journalist - talking, meeting, laughing ,attending press conferences. ,creating big strategy and then seeing its effects in newspaper or influence internet source etc . All of this fascinates me a lot ! However Since stuttering is problem with speech and speech is core of Public relations , I don’t think I can succeed In this industry. I’m currently working as a PR intern and pitching journalist daily is the hardest part for me . I sometimes can’t get a single word out of my mouth which not only creates a poor impression among journalists I’m speaking to but also affects my confidence. How can I cope with this? Should I just look for other jobs where I don’t have to speak under stressful circumstances ? Can I ever be normal?
