Yes, this. Things aren't as poetic and dramatic in reality as what we imagine. Humility tends to go a long way too whether we want it to or not. In classroom settings people would assume I'm smart because I speak less often, probably because when I do say anything it's relatively concise and insightful. Meanwhile I'd be confused and fascinated because I couldn't figure out if that perception of me was out of pity or if I seemed like a show-off, etc. Anyway, my point is there's no reason to prove you're the smartest person in the room, even if you happen to be.
