I completely agree with what you are saying. Someone that has never stuttered has absolutely no clue what it is like. For most people, speaking is just natural as it should be. It is often hard to think positive about this and maybe the fact that there are plenty of people that have it worse is not that comforting. But what choice do you have? Yes, it’s a shit card we are dealt, but there is no other way than just live with it, work on it and try to accept it. I am trying to work on my stutter every day and it is very though sometimes and embarrassing, but I don’t have another choice. Complaining won’t solve anything. Also don’t forget that a lot of people that don’t have a stutter are not necessarily much better and pleasant communicators. Some people speak too fast, slur their words, only speak about themselves not listening to what other have to say etc. As a stutter I have learned to become a good listener, choose my words more wisely etc. This can often make you a much more pleasant person to converse with.
