Cringe moment Usually, in the brief few seconds before I speak, I'm able to tell if I'm going to stutter or not. This one time, I was walking up the stairs to my apartment, a girl holding an interesting picture, came in after me, I didn't feel like I was going to stutter, so, feeling confident, I approached her to ask her about the picture, and surprise, I stuttered. I kept the conversation going though, cause I felt it would make it less awkward, and I think she picked up on it. So we're going up the stairs and the convo was going 'meh' (she was nice though), until we reach the entrance to her floor's door, and I ask for her name, big mistake, because she then asked for mine. And I had, if not, the worst block in my life, I couldn't get it out. I was struggling for a good 5-7 seconds. I just gave up, and decided to spell it out, but she still thought I pronouncing my name. Let's say my name was "James", I was spelling out "J-A-", and she replied "Jayay?". I just let it go, and dashed out of there, up to my floor.
