Complete vocal block comes and goes Hi everyone I'm new to this sub but suffered from a vocal block for years, it goes sometimes but comes when I'm anxious and get worried about it (a lot of the time) and results in lots of fear and avoidance. I was a stutterer as a child but much less now, it's the block that's really bothering me. There are so many humiliating moments because of it. In class years ago I was called on to read a paragraph and I blocked on the first word (usually its the first one) which was "the" and I kept trying but the sound didn't come out. I used to be good at these school trivia team competitions but the block became more of an issue and I stopped participating after there was an easy question on the Cia initials and I couldn't say "central" and just passed. The block is worse when I'm expected to say something specific. When I have to tell the taxi driver (communal taxis are common here) where to stop, I end up tapping on the door window hah. I completely blocked once when asked my name and went to the toilet pretending I was sick. Any advice to deal with this blocking? Its really unpredictable, sometimes it happens even if I'm feeling good, or doesn't happen when I'm anxious
