Stuttering Software Engineers out there, How has stuttering affected you and your work Like the title suggests, I am wondering how much stuttering is a problem in my future career. I am 17, in an accelerated school with 2 full years of colleges towards my Bachelors in Computer Science. I intend to graduate with my Bachelors by the time I'm 19, and most likely continue to get my Masters since I am "young." I do stutter, and I intend to get a job in a Software developer/engineering once I am finished with my education. I have never applied for any jobs, or internships as of yet, but I plan to apply for an internship next summer. Besides the dreaded interview process haha, how is being a software engineer who stutters? Does it affect your daily workflow? Do colleges, co-workers, clients care? Thank you so much for any information. EDIT: I want to thank everyone here. I wake up the next morning to see so many comments regarding my question. I didn't expect this many replies, and I am really grateful. The general consensus is that software engineers and other co-workers don't really care, and that is excellent to hear. I guess as adults, they are able to see past this. I just was curious to see how it would affect my career, but now I know that my stuttering shouldn't be a problem. Thanks!
