If she already knows that you stutter, just explain. i've found many people are very very understanding as long as you are clear and explicit, don't over estimate peoples intelligence and drop subtle hints. Simply explain why you would rather not have to answer phone calls, what you are doing to make it easier for yourself, and if there is anything else you can do that less predicated on fluent speech. Just be clear and explicit.
