I’m 41 and have stuttered my entire life. It’s gotten much better with age and I think part of it is because as you get older you naturally stop caring about stuff and aren’t as self conscious. Best advice I ever got was to “try to forget” that you stutter when in speaking situations. If you are self conscious and thinking about your speech it will be worse. And remember that everybody struggles with things they can’t control. My wife has to really watch what she eats or she will gain weight, while I can eat whatever I want. She’s told me before that if she could switch with me and stutter but be able to eat whatever she wants she would do it in a heartbeat!
