Does alcohol help with stuttering and or blocking?

Does alcohol help with stuttering and or blocking? I've been stuttering, blocking and have been socially anxious for most of my life. As I've gotten older (22 now), I've noticed it's only the thought of blocking that makes me anxious in social situations. I'm a very outgoing and talkative person, but I don't talk a whole lot because I'm afraid I'll block and be stuck, and it'll be super awkward. I want to talk and add to conversations, but my mind simply won't let me. That's where alcohol comes in. Has anyone else tried drinking to help with blocking or stuttering, or even the anxiety that comes with it? How has it positively or negatively affected your speech? I've read online that it helps some people tremendously and makes it worse for others, so I just wanted some differing opinions. Also, I should probably add that I've never drank before. Not one drop. I don't want to get drunk, I just want to feel good and be more comfortable in certain situations. I also don't want to drink every day and get dependent on it. Just when I'm out with friends, as that's when the social anxiety is at its peak.
