I pretty much agree with everything you said. I hate standing out because of my stutter. However with services like Uber and Lyft, I just mostly give short replies or don’t talk and they eventually understand I don’t really want to have a whole conversation. With those I can get away with being a covert stutterer. However any situation where I need to check in at a desk or ask for something in particular is a nightmare I do try to avoid. It’s something about having to be the one to engage and knowing I’ll stutter-it gets in my head.
