Sorry to be a smartass, but I’ve only ever been a person who stutters, so I don’t know how it would have been if I didn’t stutter. Anyway, yes, it can be tough. Unless you make a serious effort to avoid them, you’re going to have to introduce yourself, give presentations, participate in class, etc. plenty. The good thing is people generally won’t give a shit if you stutter. College students are focused on so much else. It’s a vibe totally different from high school. My advice is to throw yourself into whatever you please. Join clubs, organizations, groups. Start up conversations when you can, and keep conversations going when they’re started with you. Find out where the party is and go. A lot of this is easier said than done, I know. But it won’t kill you to just DO IT.
