I understand what you mean. Stuttering is hard to understand for us, much less for kids and even adults. My son is young and he was naturally curious and even thought it was funny when he was 4-5. He asked me a million times why I can’t just “say the word”. I obviously have explained everything to him and even a more macro sense of people with disabilities or common physical/mental issues. It’s all good now, but it was a real phase to push thru. Long story short, people can be brutal. Not just kids. I’ve been made fun of by adults at age 30. Even an ex-boss of mine. And guaranteed I’ve been talked about behind my back even more. My philosophy is if I can’t be fluent in a situation, it’s probably not worth speaking.
