I have also spent a lot of time being unemployed. Last time was about 6 months, but i just got a new job a month ago. The reason i was unemployed that long was completely my own fault though. I just was not applying for any jobs due to depression and fear of job interviews. But once i started treating job hunting as a full time job, i got a job within a week. For some reason my stutter is not as bad during job interviews, it is almost as if i can force my self to be fluent when i really need it. I had four interviews in just one week and they all went fine, even though i had a few blocks during two of the interviews. All though you struggle with job interviews i would recommend applying to as many jobs as possible, spend a lot of time on the personal letter and treat every failed interview as practice for future ones. The more interviews you do the easier it gets. Good luck man.
