> I'll still always have the anxiety about not being able to say your name when asked... IDK how old you are. I had a severe stutter until mid 20s. Did speech therapy throughout my youth with little improvement. When I went back in my 20s, I had the same therapy, but I really threw myself into doing the work. The point of this anecdote is be cautious about the word 'always.' When going to the doctor, take a list of your questions. Take a friend, or ask that they have a P.A. or a social worker with you to take notes. Using your phone as a recorder is also a tremendous asset. You're 100% right that all of the information, in the moment of the consultation, can be overwhelming. That's where having a plan for the conversation can help.
