Sorry, I should clarify that I was being a bit tongue in cheek with that example! Though oddly enough, I personally found that I was able to act in high school; my stutter was non-existent in that particular situation. But Speech Class, where we had to give a speech to a small group every week? Oh my god. Agony. I got VERY inventive about word substitution in that class. I don't think anyone knew I had a stutter, but they probably all did think I was very weird. Anyway, I hear you. I don't see how any book I would write with a MC who stutters could NOT explore the tragedies and triumphs. I'd aim for a storyline that would be gripping regardless, but I don't think I could do it without exploring it in-depth. I mean, there wouldn't be any point otherwise. Thanks for the encouragement!
