It got better as time went on for me. I'm in my early 30s now with a great job and gf and all that jazz. I have my issues here and there, but the older I've gotten, the more I realize nobody else really cares that much. Most people are patient and deal with it just fine. The more you get comfortable with who you are and find your ways to get through it, the easier it is. Experience makes it easier. As far as everyone getting engaged around you, that happens. 22 is early for that, and if you have trouble finding people to date, online dating was a godsend for me. You get to make a first impression without the hurdle of stuttering your way through it.
