damn i could relate to this hard. i'm 19, a year older than you, and my stutter seems to hold me down as well. I don't like participating in my classes at all due to the fear of me stuttering and getting embarrased, and I can't even introduce myself properly. I used to be very extroverted and outgoing in my middle school years when my stutter wasn't as prominent, but over the years, i've slowly become more introverted and don't like to go out too much or socialize as much. I really only talk to my group of friends at my university who I've met and are pretty nice. I also haven't applied to any jobs and am scared to apply to jobs because of my stupid stutter. I'm in the same boat as you and I'm just hoping that we can both get through this somehow :(. As for medicine, I tried xanax a couple of times in high school, but it didn't work well for me. You can ask your doctor to prescribe you pills, but good luck because they are scared you'll get addicted to them. Speech therapy didn't help me either. :(
