Could you use subtitutes when phrasing the term? Or is your store policy very strict when it comes to how you greet customers? For example, if the syllable you're struggling with is "or", or even "der", then I'd say ditch the term entirely, especially if it makes you feel uncomfortable (helpful for when youre in a busy period and you need to move things along fast). I'd try phrasing it like: Hi, what can I get for you? | good morning, what would you like today? You could even go for a more lively, yet quick greeting such as Welcome, once you've taken a look at the menu let me know what I can get for you. If you're unsure about making such changes, I do recommend talking to your superviser about saying a substitute instead of "Plase place your order". In my experience, people are very open and understanding. Let us know how it goes, hope this helped!
