Reading those first three paragraphs... So much of what you covered there mirrors my experience. I've said it many times in this sub, speech therapy didn't work for me in my youth because I didn't put the work into speech therapy. Until I went back to speech therapy at \~25 years old. When I went back on my own. I put in the work, and I was able to achieve fluency in a matter of six months or so. How do you stop smoking? Don't quit quitting. How do you get fluent? Don't stop working at it.
