Also a good way to inspire a work out. There are so many thing we do have control over that effect how people perceive us. I'm looking to max out all of those departments before I beat myself up about stuttering anymore. If you can walk around life in great physical shape with a very comfortable amount of money and a valuable trade that you've mastered, I think the stuttering will take care of itself or just not matter anymore. It took a lot off my shoulders to put my speech on the back burner and actively pursued other self improvement avenues with the same energy I devoted to worrying about stuttering. I've lost all my extra weight (90 lbs in a year with keto) and am now getting good results from strength training. My speech has not really improved in this time period but the way people respond to me has changed drastically. I do a little tech support on the phone sometimes at work and I'll even tell the guy, "look, I stutter a lot, but I know how to get your machine up and running, so bear with me and we'll get you fixed", they appreciate that and are always happy at the end of the call when their problem is solved.
