I never cared too much about my stutter, maybe on first dates, maybe i was wirh really good people who showed patience. Try slowing down when talking. Take deep breathes between sentances. Use as much subtle gestures not to seem boring while slow talking. Take your time, noone is rushing you. Even if someone tries to help you finish a word, ignore it and do it yourself. That said, I found as i get older people care less. At work noone cares that i stutter. I was open about my stutter on my job interview and thay said they could not care less, that is NOT a disability, we seem just a bit quirky untill they get used to it. Highscool was tough, presentations and stuff. I have always talked to my teachers about my stutter, explained that i cannot do presentations or read out loud infront of class because that makes me nervous and start to stutter even more. Maybe some of the classmates were making fun of me when we first met, but they quickly got over it as i did not show that i care whatever they said about it. I even openly joked about how my phone bill was super high because i stutter and stuff like that. My point is, dont try to hide your stutter. Explain it to people, they will understand, if not, fuck them. Those are not peopleyou should be hanging out with anyway. Remember, the older you get the easier it is. Enjoy your life, dont let the stutter get in the way.
