Thank you for your input. I'm glad it's a well-known assignment and has been openly discussed within our communities (I hadn't done any research on it prior to posting here). I had an understanding communication partner but not all other students have had the same reaction. I have 2 more scenarios to live through to finish the assignment but it has been a useful glimpse into what a person who stutters may feel even though, like you said, it's but a fraction.
