Even if this doesn’t show the treatment is efficacious, its individual successes will be proof of concept. The old fable about the girl throwing stranded starfish back into the ocean comes to mind. You may not be able to save all the starfish stranded on the shoreline, but for that one who was saved it mattered greatly. The same is true for medication mediated treatment for stuttering. It might not help all stutterers, but for those few stutterers who it does help, the result is life altering.
