Why us? I always blamed my physically abusive father for my stutter… I had speech therapy for years and now I can speak fluently around 80% of the time. Now my son has reached 5 years old and he has a stutter. I am the complete opposite of my father intentionally and I still couldn’t shield my son from it. My other two boys escaped the curse but he didn’t. It feels like a curse sometimes. I was born in ‘85 so people were still associating stuttering with stupidity. Films, cartoons, comics… there was always the stupid character with a stutter. Luckily we aren’t there anymore, I just hope the world is kinder to my boy than it was to me growing up. Sorry for the depressing post, I just needed to get it out. That’s what she said ;)
