Friend, as a fellow stutterer, may I please say "that's messed up" and laugh, cause I'm not laughing at your bad experiences but those of your characters'. But seriously...I can empathize as my internal voice also has some of the "um"s and "alright"s I use. Damn that's messed up for a writer....(no, I don't wanna laugh now). Maybe, get the words outta your characters however possible and don't bring the stutter onto the page unless it serves an emotion? All the best to you, my friend. I hope you sort this out✌️🙏
