I feel your pain. I stutter too. It’s either I can’t get words out or they come out so fast it’s like word vomit. I, too, have a job dealing with the public, but I work from home. My boss knows I can’t control my speech impediment. I’m looking to switch to a position off the phones, but still within the company. A customer called me unprofessional because of my stutter. It really upset me. I told my supervisor and she said I’m not unprofessional. If anyone is rude, disrespectful, or just plain mean to you about it, that’s their fault. They’re the ones who should be embarrassed because they’re talking trash and they need to stop.
