Adderall/Vyvanse the most helpful thing I’ve tried. Anyone else? I kind of found it by accident. I never took or was prescribed adderall or Vyvanse as a kid but late high school and in college I would take it here and there for an exam or something. At some point in college i realized how fluent my speech was while I was on it and talking in class/internship that day. So then I tried it for a formal presentation I had to give. And fucking killed it. I ended up using it for most of my major presentations throughout my MBA and now take it fairly regularly for work where my job demands me to talk all day and present/speak in front of large audiences regularly. I am totally fine if 50% (or even 100% is placebo effect)…but this works for me and has been effective since I started taking it (effects haven’t worn off or dulled after many years of taking). I also think there maybe something to the confidence or like rush of adrenaline I get from taking it. I feel more determined/headstrong to just hammer through it. And I think the way adderall keeps me super locked in on the content/subject I’m tackling at work helps my brain minimize my stutter and just not focus on it as much in general. I think the benefits I’ve had is a mix of: putting me in right headspace + some boost in fluency. Stuttering is a crazy unique and personal experience for everyone. So I’m not recommending anyone try this or saying it will work for others… but honestly just super curious to compare notes with you guys. Has anyone else had similar effects? Other medications that surprisingly helped your speech/level of fluency? I.e. an indirect benefit
