Stuttering Around Children

Stuttering Around Children I'm a 31 year old male who has stuttered since seven years old and became a substitute teacher almost a year ago. I've noticed that my speech is almost fluent around children, especially younger children. My stutter is generally moderate to severe, even around family members. I'm diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, Dysthymia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Autism. I'm terrified of social situations, and my stutter can get really bad. But around children, especially elementary school aged children, my brain metaphorically flips a switch and my speech becomes mostly fluent and my anxiety is almost entirely gone. I still stutter, but it's not nearly as bad as it is around adults and teens. Anybody else experience this? Could stuttering be psychological? Or at least heavily influenced by someone's psychological disposition?
