I’m so thrilled for you. I learned about Dr McGuire in relation to his work with breath control and desensitization. There’s a YouTube video of his earlier work with stutterers in the UK. It’s amazing. I’ll post the link. Please check it out. I wasn’t aware he was using SSRI’s and atypical antipsychotics. I’ve suffered from Major Depressive Disorder most of my life, only recently recovered from that as well. I’ve taken many of the medications you mentioned, most recently Abilify which caused restless legs making it unable to sleep. I had no reduction of my stuttering with other SSRI’s guy mentioned. It appears both my depression as well as my stuttering were both the result of my reaction to my childhood abuse. It’s amazing to become fluent when you never expected it. You’re young enough to enjoy a career. I fully recovered from stuttering at age 70. It was miraculous surprise to me. I dealt with my anger and resentment through psychotherapy, and all of a sudden, realized I wasn’t stuttering. I lived a reasonably normal life, married well, and was happy other than the embarrassment of my mild-medium stutter. During my life I’d sought speech therapy and psychological therapy but this most recent time was a charm. I’m so gratified that you recovered earlier in your life. Good luck and keep sharing on r/stutter giving hope to others. Sue
