We would not necessarily get more help. At the moment, most stutters are definitively incurable. There are countless disorders that are widespread and still have little to no research done on them, or they are determined to be incurable. And I wouldn't give more people this suffering just so it's less awkward for *us* \- that's a brutally unfair trade.
