Should I ask my doc to see a specialist?

Should I ask my doc to see a specialist? Hi everyone! I am 28 now and I’ve always had difficulty speaking (stutter and feel a block) when I feel excited about something or when I’m trying to explain a concept. I can for the most part speak without a stutter. I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older my stuttering has become more frequent and more common when just trying to talk. Should I finally say something to my doc about it and see a specialist?
