I'm a medical student too and I reached out to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist referred me to a speech therapist (who's an excellent speech therapist but not a good person) and gave me SSRI for the anxiety disorder she had diagnosed. In my case, by controlling my anxiety I'm able to express myself efficiently than earlier but your case might be different.
