I relate with this. I try staring over them like the side of their shoulder to help focus my brain to talk fluent to an extent. They’re still in my eye view but when they make disrespectful faces or confused ones at least I don’t see them as a whole. There are people who say “why do you not look at me”, they may be curious and a good person. They will understand and not comment on what you do. As for people who are the “hurry up” demographic even if they’re not in my full eye view it’s still a sting to my confidence and could impact my speech. Hopefully you see the good people over the bad.
