We've been friends for years, but I still avoid opening up to her because I just don't like her watching me struggle, even though she's okay with me stuttering all the time. Yesterday, after the misunderstanding, I tried to explain to her via text. She said she just wanted me to be honest, but I couldn't. This makes her think she's not trustworthy enough for me to open up. (And she thinks I don't care for her because I don't talk much.) It's actually my fault. I wish I'd be less seclusive and more genuine in my expression without having to substitute words. I think it's more about social skills problem rather than stuttering; all this misunderstanding wouldn't have happened if I could just talk.
