Compilations of speech techniques and the corresponding satisfication rates Hi, community. I made a post which compilated all of speech techniques that I've known and surveyed the corresponding satisfication rates of them with a sample size of 218(6 people in my post who didn't use techniques or demonstrate what techniques they used): Original post:[The Poll](https://www.reddit.com/r/Stutter/comments/xe2b3i/what_is_the_most_satisfactory_speech_technique/) The compilations may not cover adequate techniques since I am not knowledgable at speech techniques and there are also techniques that were invented by folks so if someone can supplement I will highly appreciate it and I will update! This post can help everybody know about speech techniques and their corresponding satisfication rates so that you can make good choices accorinding to them. Method: Just divide the achieved votes or comments that signify satisfactorinesses of all of speech techniques by the sample size, very simple, and round up to avoid trivial digits after the decimal points. Result(in descending order by the satisfication rate): 1.Deep Breath 43% 2.Prolongation 23% 3.Resetting 16% 4.Mumming 9% 5.Interjection 6% 6.Pre-vibration 3% The rest of techniques have nearly zero or just zero corresponding satisfication rates. So all in all, according to the survey with the sample size of 218, via Reddit and Facebook(I checked the comments and found out one user answered 'Prolongation' but I didn't count him into the data and I am sorry:[For Stutterers By Stutterers](https://www.facebook.com/groups/196800997473373/posts/1396632277490233/?comment_id=1398371467316314&reply_comment_id=1401327967020664&notif_id=1663752022283419&notif_t=group_comment_mention)), Deep Breath signifies the highest satisfaction rate. I don't know how to use statistic tools like p-value to judge whether the sample size is adequate or not but if it is inadequate then this survey has limited meanings. Another limitation that is not potiential is that the fact that the voters/commenters have yet to try other techniques that they haven't tried will probably deflate the satisfaction rates of random techniques and inflate the satisfaction rates of currently used techniques, because the satisfaction rates given by the voters/commenters may be limited by the techniques they use currently while there may be other better options. Also possible incorrect knowledges of random techniques may have influenced the results. By the way, if your stuttering is largely mental, cognitive therapy will work better for you while if your stuttering is largely neurological, speech techniques will work better you! Self-analysis is extremely important. I also made a post of the guidance of how to self-analyze the components of your stuttering:[Guidance](https://www.reddit.com/r/Stutter/comments/x4okf7/weird_altruism_thoughtadvice_from_a_man_who_has/) Anyway, help it can help you guys a lot!
