Wow!!! What a horrible reply!! This stuttering group is supposed to be supportive. Everyone should be treated with respect. If someone is unstable and needs to vent they should seek mental health support. I hope they have administrators who stop such negative comments. Horrible. Stuttering is a neurological disorder. Speech therapy can last a long time and often is not effective. Sometimes we need a fresh approach. If someone does not see well, they can try on a pair of glasses and they will immediately know if the glasses help. Same with hearing aids. You will immediately know if they help you. The same also goes for speech prosthetics. You try it and see if it helps you. If it does, that is great. If the speech prosthetic does not immediately help you, then you walk away. No big deal. No loss. Unfortunately many people who stutter do not know of the existence of speech prosthetics. A speech therapist should offer the option to every client. Unfortunately that will never happen because speech therapists make their money by giving therapy that often goes on and on. There are many new options opening up for those of us who stutter, and let us hope they will be a great help to all
