The very best response to my stuttering I've ever had I'm becoming a regular at this coffee shop. Ordering is probably when my stutter is at its worst, so the baristas are quite familiar with it. Today, after ordering, the barista actually asked me about it. He was wondering if it was only certain words that triggered it. I told him that I don't fuckin' know, it just does whatever it wants. Small interaction, but I really appreciated it. Something about putting it out in the open in an earnest way made me way less self-conscious.
