I am not that familiar with Speech Easy but it seems like everyone makes negative comments about it. They also advertise on Reddit which is very sad. Wherever you go there is the good, the bad and the ugly. To me DAF and the Edinburgh Masker have been very very good. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Very sad.
