Yea, 22 here and have had a mild stutter since the age of 5. I will say I definitely have my ups and downs depending on other circumstances surrounding my life. Yet one thing is definitely generally true: my stutter manifests itself in its worst form during public speaking. I can get by in conversations and even some group interactions but as soon as I’m the lone speaker in a big crowd, it’s a wrap. Anyway, I will say alcohol definitely helps me. If I get a little tipsy, the stutter will virtually vanish and I can do whatever the fuck I want. I’ve came a long way with this condition actually. It used to be much worse but I think self reflection and some rumination about what is really important has mitigated my stutter. Finally, I want to say I’m glad there are others out there who experience what I do when the word just won’t come out. We’re all connected by that experience and must keep our heads up and not let this condition slow us down in this one time experience of life. Hope that helps! I’d be glad to talk about it further 💪🏼
