I will agree that you need to see a speech pathologist who specializes in stuttering for the reasons you mentioned. However, stuttering is not an anxiety thing. It can lead to anxiety and interacts with feelings and thoughts, but ultimately it's a neurologic disorder. Giving her time to talk and finish her thoughts is great. I would also say that due to your daughter's awareness, it may be okay to acknowledge her stuttering and let her know that it's okay to have "bumpy speech." Acknowledging stuttering doesn't cause stuttering. However, that's something you should discuss with your speech pathologist.
