Similar experience when i was doing intake for a procedure. Said I blocked/stuttered and it often made it difficult to communicate about certain atypical conditions that increased my anxiety when attempting to describe them. Found out later after a few follow-ups when I noticed i was being spoken to in a certain "patronizing" way. Like how one might speak to a 9 year old or a 99 year old. I brought it up and the doctor said a learning disability was nothing to be ashamed about and i was doing great. I almost had a stroke right there. It's my biggest fear tbh. People incorrectly judging my intelligence based on me saying "um um " or "like like" a lot when blocking.
