This. I think getting out of the comfort zone is one of the key aspects. Of course yes, there are still "bad days" or situations (for me, when I'm extremely sleepy or exhausted, it gets really bad), but in most everyday situations it works out well because I always can tell myself "you've been though more difficult situations". This seems to be a common trait in many people that have managed to reduce or gotten over stuttering.
