I kinda go against the ‘Be thankful for what you got’ though I see what you’re coming from. Yes, a person who has a home, food and water are living a good life, but that doesn’t mean they’re living a happy life. Two problems can coexist at one time. Like I wouldn’t tell a person whose parents just died that they should be thankful they still have a home, food, and clean water. We should also be telling fluent speakers with this logic that they should be thankful to have the easy fluency of speech since they’re living a better life than millions.
